Where does the Huffington Post find these people: I know I told you I was over astrologers, but I never said anything about clairvoyant healers. A friend of mine raved about Tori Quisling, so I had to meet her. Her readings supposedly guide and empower. What’s the harm in that? What’s the harm? How about…Continue Reading…
On the passing of Gerry Rafferty, Stoat reminisces about that famous line from “Stuck in the Middle with You” and remarks: the same problems exist: remaining sane and balanced between we’re-all-going-to-die and there-is-no-problem. Many people will undoubtedly associate the song with a classically twisted Tarantino scene. I’m glad Stoat chose this great clip in memoriam.
I thought I’d add a few new wrinkles to the blog for 2011. If you look at the top left corner of the home page, you’ll see I added a new page called “Regular features.” It contains headlines that you’ll see recurring in the blog. I think it will be brief, probably just one post related to this recent controversial story (unless I can convince him to stick around longer). And I’m hoping to squeeze a few climate change related guest posts out of someone…Continue Reading…
What a sweet picture. Somebody should draw up thought clouds for each of these guys and have a contest for the funniest strip.
I was struck by this news article in the Guardian yesterday, which gushes over the new Climate Science Rapid Response Team (my emphasis): the three scientists behind the project ““ John Abraham, Scott Mandia, and Ray Weymann ““ have come off almost as climate science super heroes, which in a sense they are. Wow, move…Continue Reading…
This piece of advice from Rex at Savage Minds pretty much holds true for all of life: There is just nothing like meeting someone in person to assess, in flash, whether or not they are actually The Shit. But he’s speaking specifically about how to navigate the whirlwind of conferences. And he’s spot on, which…Continue Reading…
