The Upside of Global Warming
It sounds perverse, but there’s no denying it. Yes, some of us may well end up as edible wafers. The Russians, however, are feeling giddy about their future prospects in a hotter world, as Bradford Plumer notes here.
So too are nomads in the Sahara, it seems, according to this dispatch from National Geographic News. Instead of climate change-induced drought and desertification,
Scientists are now seeing signals that the Sahara desert and surrounding regions are greening due to increasing rainfall.
Unsurprisingly, anti-greenies over at Planet Gore are chortling over this bit of news. But you guys can’t have it both ways. Why would you trumpet the apparent benefits of global warming in one case study if you don’t believe there is such a thing as anthropogenic climate change?
